How To Turn Daily Tasks Into Meditation
I love this article by Dr. Colleen Carroll because it isn’t just about adding one more thing to our daily to do list. Dr. Carroll first suggests that we stop multi-tasking and, instead, do each thing one at a time. In this way we can do it with care, gratitude, [...] Read more »
What if Every Day Was Like Christmas?
September…October…A little too soon to think about Christmas? I know it is a lot to stomach. Back to school displays have barely come down, Christmas goes up and we usurp Halloween and Thanksgiving. I have overheard similar complaints more than a few times while standing in line at the popular big box retailers. Even Facebook book friends have noticed the premature red and green push. Moving Away From Fear
Sometimes when I listen to my mind chatter, I am reminded of Chicken Little. One little acorn fell on his head and off he went to tell the king that the sky was falling. In most versions, his story does not end well. We’re often driven by our worries and fears, and then we too are taken off our best path. Read more »
Finding the Time to Meditate is Well Worth It
We have a lot of “shoulds” in our lives. Eat right, exercise, and now meditate! We hear this and many of us react with, “How will I find the time?” Like the first two “shoulds,” however, incorporating a practice of meditation into your life is well worth the returns. This [...] Read more »

The cells are surrounded by what they need but are unable let it in. There is a physio-chemical reason that this happens, but I believe that it happens energetically and spiritually first. Healing the World Within
Healing the world within is the quickest path to joy. Whenever you see something on the outside that is upsetting or incongruent to your way of seeing or doing things, do you feel the need to fix it in order to feel all right or move forward? If so, next time this type of situation arises, pause for a moment and decide first to feel all right no matter what, acknowledging the piece inside of you that resonates with this issue and watch how the event tends to “fix” itself. Becoming Present in Your Life
Now there is something to be said for "going with the flow," but there are some days that I just feel like I'm caught up in the rapids being tossed about uncontrollably and fighting to survive. When I find myself in that place, I know that it's time to say enough is enough, grab on to the next tree branch that's extended out over the river, hold on tight, and take a breather. As I cling to that moment, I use the time to try to figure out just how I got into those rapids and how I might get myself back to the peaceful flow of the river...my life. Read more »
